It’s easy to join. Just:
- Click on Sign Up, below the pink floating box and enter your information
- Upload a photo (please do this as it makes the site look better)
Then you can:
- Upload photos, videos, write blogs
- Join a group or cause that you like the sound of
- Attend events and even create your own
Adding Images
As a general rule, the NING network can accept JPG, GIF or PNG image files.
These should be no larger than 10MB in size, or approx 500px wide
Want to add a picture to a Blog entry?
- From the Blog toolbar (located below the title "Entry") click on the Image icon
- Click the Browse button to Upload an Image
- Locate the file on your computer and double-click it
- Click > Options, from here you can choose to -
Wrap text around image?
This is pretty self-explanatory, this will align your image either left or right with text wrapping around your image.
Create Thumbnail?
If you have not already resized your image it's a good idea to use this feature. You should not use an image more than 500 px wide here - if for some reason you need to show a large image, you should use the Popup Window feature (below).
Popup Window?
Use this inconjunction with a thumbnail so that TheBurning networkers can click on the thumbnail to view the original size image. This is great if you have a diagram or large image that you want to add.
Adding a Profile Photo or Group Image Icon
When you join our network or create a group you are given the option to add a profile photo or icon.
You can generally use any JPG, GIF or PNG, but the larger the filesize of the image the longer it will take to upload to the TheBurning network. We suggest that you first resize your graphic to 171 x 171 pixels.
Want to change your Profile Image?
- Click My Settings, which is located on the top-right of this page
- Click on the Photo icon next to Profile Image
- Choose to Upload an Image from my computer
- Browse to the file on your computer and double-click on it
- Click Done
